"The interior needs a clean" — that sentence comes up in detailing shops every day. But what does "cleaning the interior" actually mean? Is regular vacuuming enough? When is it time for chemical cleaning, and which level — Express or full? Here's how the levels differ, with practical advice on how often you actually need them.

The levels at a glance

Our catalogue has four different interior services, each for a different situation:

  • Express chemical cleaning — quick refresh. Floor, seats, plastic and glass. Suitable for monthly upkeep or before a meeting when the interior just needs to look right.
  • Standard package — Express exterior wash + interior vacuuming + mat and glass cleaning. When you want to handle inside and outside in one visit.
  • Deluxe package — Deluxe exterior wash + chemical cleaning of floor and seats + plastic and leather care. A thorough option worth doing seasonally.
  • Interior chemical cleaning — full chemical clean: floor, seats (leather or fabric), glass and plastic. A 24-hour service that essentially returns the interior to a fresh-car state.

How often?

The answer depends on your lifestyle and what you carry in the car day to day. Some real-world situations:

Daily commuter

Express chemical cleaning every 2–3 months. Plus regular vacuuming at home.

Family with kids

Spilled drinks, food crumbs, muddy shoes, juice and milk stains — that's just life in a family car. We recommend Express cleaning every 1–2 months and a Deluxe package at least twice a year.

Pet owner

Hair embeds deep into the fabric and the smell sticks around. Normal vacuuming doesn't fix it — you need chemical cleaning and sometimes interior ozone treatment.

Smoker

Smoke odour anchors itself in the fabric, plastic and ventilation system. Express isn't enough — you need a full interior chemical cleaning plus ozone.

Car going up for sale

The most important thing is for the buyer to feel a fresh, well-kept interior — that gives you a stronger position in price negotiations. We recommend our pre-sale package, which combines a thorough exterior wash with interior cleaning.

Signs it's time for a chemical clean

  • The interior has a smell that air freshener can't cover
  • There are stains in the carpet that vacuuming doesn't remove
  • Seats feel "tacky" to the touch
  • Inside surfaces of the glass are dirty — causing night-time glare
  • Plastic surfaces look dull
  • The footwell has visible salt or excess dust

Practical recommendation

For most cars the right rhythm is: Express cleaning 2–3 times a year + one thorough cleaning per year. Plus regular at-home vacuuming and mat washing, especially in winter.
